Ensuring the safety of your child and providing you with peace of mind is our top priority at Alamance Child Development Center. To gain access to our facility visitors must be buzzed into the Center. All visitors must register in the lobby before accessing the classroom hallways.
Each classroom, including the playground, has closed-circuit cameras that are only accessible to the facility.
At Alamance Child Development Center, we encourage families to be involved in their child's growth and education. Our center hosts a variety of events to celebrate special occasions, such as birthday parties, Thanksgiving lunch, and Christmas lunch.
Yes. Alamance Child Development Center provides breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack. All of the Center's meals meet the guidelines set by the Child and Adult Care Food Program and the USDA. This ensures that children are receiving nutrients to support brain development and growth.
To ensure the safety of all the children under our care, we do not allow families to provide their own food. We provide food services for all the children. However, we do make menu exceptions for children with documented religious or medical reasons. If your child requires a special diet, please speak to the Director about supplying the necessary food.
Our Center utilizes the ProCare: Family Engagement App, which enables seamless communication between families and staff throughout the day. Parents receive regular updates about their child's care and needs throughout the day. For school-age families, the app sends an alert when their child signs in, giving them peace of mind knowing their child has arrived safely.
The health and safety of the families and staff we serve is one of our top priorities. For this reason, we do not provide care for children who are unwell. In the event that a child falls ill while in our care, we will immediately contact their family and take additional measures to disinfect the classroom thoroughly.
Every day, after lunch, the Center offers nap or quiet time to children, except infants who are cared for according to their needs. For children who do not nap, quiet activities are provided. .
We recommend that families gradually introduce their child to a child care setting, especially if the child has never been in childcare before. This process should begin by bringing the child for only 3 hours on their first day and then adding an hour each day as the child becomes more comfortable.
It is natural for children to cry at drop-off as it can be difficult for them to separate from their loved ones. However, we encourage families to drop off and leave, even though it may be hard, you can rest assured that your child will be okay. To ease the transition, teachers will accompany your child into the classroom and reassure them of their safety. Families will also receive daily updates on their child's progress through ProCare to ensure they are succeeding.
