PreK

The PreK classroom serves children ages four to five. In this classroom your child will be working on getting ready for kindergarten.

Your child should be able to follow rules, take turns when playing with others, sing and dance, complete simple chores, retell a story that was heard or made up, answer simple questions about a book or story that was just told, keep a conversation going, use or recognize simple rhymes, count to 10, identify some numbers visually, use words about time (i.e., yesterday, tomorrow, morning, or night), pay attention for 5 to 10 minutes during an activity, write some letters in their name, and name some letters visually. The class will begin working on identifying more numbers and letters as the year progresses.

We work with the children and families to ensure they are kindergarten ready and set up for success!
